Smokin' Joe and
his Wild Horse Band |
|
 |
| |
Founded in 1992,
"Smokin Joe" set out to be a band that brought the hot new country music
of the nineties to central Pennsylvania. The bands driving motive was to
create a show that would blow people away. Anyone who saw the band
perform would tell you that they accomplished what they set out to do.
Performing, primarily in clubs and taverns, in the early years, the band
attracted a loyal following. Over the years, the band has evolved into a
new band, and has moved the show out of the clubs, and onto the fair and
festival circuit.

My passion for singing came at a very young age, I sang and danced most of my younger years. At the age of 11 years old I was introduced to the movie industry. Several of the movies that I was casted in were: The Incredible Shrinking Woman, Bad News Bears, Mommy Dearest and Ghost of Buxley Hall. I was also in several commercials which were sponsored by Tootsie Roll and Coca Cola.
In March of 2006 I traveled to Nashville to record my first major demo CD. I was signed by AMI Records which is an Indie Label. I then went back later in July to finish the 10 song album.
My first CD titled OPEN ROAD was released earlier this year and is doing very well. It is being played in Australia, Ireland, Japan ,United Kingdom and Europe as well as here in the states. This CD has had two reviews one by International Country Music Database which scored a 3 stars status and the other by Maverick Magazine out of the United Kingdom which was very good as well but with a slight flaw.
I am a 6th cousin to Pasty Cline and hope that someday I will be able to follow in her foot steps as a well known female artist. In 2008 I will be compiling a group of songs from the beginning of Patsy's career that is not only important to me, but my family and also Patsy's long time fans.
My goal for me right now is to make my way to the Grand Ole Opry and stand center stage with the spirit, heart and souls of the past, present and the future artists. I will not stop until I have reached this goal. |

Cooper Boone |
|
 |
| |
Although born in the heartland of America in Minnesota, Cooper has spent the last 15 years living and working between his farm in Pennsylvania and NYC. But you wouldn't know it listening to him lay down tracks for his new album Made in America. Cooper is living testimony that country is a place in the heart, not a place on the map. So how, among the concrete and noise of the New York City streets, did he find his way to country music?
At a very young age Cooper had a calling, but it wasn't music. He wanted to help people through their darkest hours and found that purpose as a psychologist. After receiving his doctorate degree in clinical psychology, he left his home in the heartland and moved to where many would consider the Mecca of psychotherapy – New York City. During his career, he has helped hundreds of families deal with addiction, trauma, obesity and illnesses such as cancer and AIDS as well as the aftermath of 9-11. From his work with patients in prisons, city projects, hospitals and clinics, Cooper has seen it all...and those stories live in his music.
''Life in the city is as all-American as what's going on in the South or the Midwest. We all love; we all hurt; we all have lasting memories of a simpler time. When you come right down to it – the problems and joys we all experience are very much the same''. Which is why, for his sophomore album, Made In America, he's drawing from his big-city experiences and his small-town roots to create a cutting-edge ''Urban-Country'' sound.
This former Minnesota choirboy hasn't forgotten his rural roots though. Many of his songs are inspired by his youth whether he's hitting the back roads in his Ford on the energetic ''Midnight Drive'', sketching scenes from his hometown in the nostalgic ''Cross Creek'' or honoring hometown workers in ''Made in America''.
To keep his hands in the dirt and his truck on the road, Coop regularly escapes to his farm in Pennsylvania, where he tends to his chickens and works on restoring his barn. Ask him about his environmental mission and he lights up. ''Taking responsibility for the planet is really about taking care of our children's futures,'' he says passionately. Taking care of the environment is what inspired his Small Change Big Planet Tour, which kicked off in Boston. The PA system is generated by a human powered bicycle providing ''clean and green'' energy! This summer he is going nationwide with his Small Change Big Planet tour along with several NASCAR events, as well as launching his online cooking show 'Cowboy Kitchen', and opening for country superstar Craig Morgan in May 2008.
Coop's myspace page, (www.myspace.com/cooperboonemusic), now appears in the top 50 of Indie Country Artists and has airplay on over 30 radio stations worldwide. He has played to sold-out crowds at The Cutting Room and Crash Mansion in New York City, the NYC AIDS Walk In Central Park, the National 4th of July Celebration in Washington, DC, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts with Trace Adkins, The Global Green Expo in Jersey City with Kevin Bacon (of 'The Bacon Brothers') and Nashville's Wildhorse Saloon at the CMA Music Festival for ABC TV. Most recently, Cooper penned the tune, ''Made in America'', for John Ratzenberger's Travel Channel show 'John Ratzenberger's Made in America'. |
